After a successful run at the Artscape Opera House this past weekend the cast of Rhapsody is jetting off to Paris, France later today (8 November 2022) where they will complete a 3-month run at the Cirque Phénix, Europe’s biggest dome-style circus tent.

Rhapsody includes traditional and contemporary circus acts, accompanied by a 14-piece troupe of musicians, led by conductor Chad Hendricks, and dynamic Cape Town vocalists, Janine and Riyaan Cornelius.

The cast of Rhapsody is super excited about this opportunity to perform internationally, especially after two years of restrictions due to COVID-19. For some of the younger cast members this is their first trip overseas.

Brent van Rensburg, Co-founder and Artistic Director at Zip Zap shared his excitement, “We are ecstatic about being able to showcase our local talent on a world stage. Here is an opportunity to share the culture of Cape Town, the diversity of South Africa and the spirit of Zip Zap with international audiences!”

‘We would like to wish the cast of Rhapsody well with this run at Cirque Phenix. We are all proud of their achievements and know that international audiences will be as captivated (by the show) as local ones were during the run at Artscape.’ Laurence Estève van Rensburg, Co-founder and CEO of Zip Zap.
